You stop by your mailbox with anticipation of finding a package from an order you placed online but instead of finding a box or envelope stuffed with goodies, you find a slip of paper from the post office stating you need to pick the package up at the post office because there is postage due. If a package comes from an individual, like my parents and they weighed it on a home scale, then I could understand. It’s hard to keep up with all the changes and different boxes, envelopes, thickness, thinness, etc. but as a company who is conducting business online, you should know the rules and abide by them so your customers aren’t inconvenienced by making a trip, out of their work day, to the post office to pay the postage due.
Today, I had the misfortunate adventure of having to pick up three packages with postage due, all from different companies.
I was tempted to send the larger one back and have them reship it.
What would you have done? Have you noticed an increase in postage due items?
