Disclaimer: I was provided two boxes of SkinnyGirl Daily Bars for free, to review. All opinions are my own.
It’s 3pm and your stomach is grumbling and letting you know that it’s hungry. You think about the cookies sitting in the break room at work or the candy dish on your co-workers desk but then you remember that you stashed a SkinnyGirl on-the-go snack bar in your purse this morning, just in case. Well, that just-in-case moment has hit. You dig in your purse and out comes a Dark Chocolate Multi-Grain Pretzel. You unwrap the package and pull the bar half way out of the package and sink your teeth into the layers of rolled oats, peanuts, almonds, mini pretzels and dark chocolate. Ahhh….just what your stomach wanted; more Protein, more Fiber, less Sugar and less Carbs than other snack bars. Each bar contains 180 calories (5 Weight Watcher Points Plus).
The on-the-go bars are also Natural and Kosher. The Banana Oatmeal Dark Chocolate is even labeled as Gluten-Free.
The Banana Oatmeal Dark Chocolate had a nice hint of banana. I really appreciated the size of the bar. I have purchased other bars in the past from other companies just to be disappointed by the size. These were the perfect size for a snack.
I visited the SkinnyGirlDaily.com website to look up the price of these. I was a bit disappointed that they are more expensive than the bars you’ll find at your grocery store. $12.99 for only 5 bars. Shipping was $2.53. That’s over $3 per bar. Maybe once they expand into more grocery stores (now you can find them at Meijer and Shoprite) they will be able to reduce their price. I would definitely buy these in the grocery store if they get the price down some. They were really good.
